Donation Options
The Humane Society of Parkersburg is a not-for-profit organization that relies heavily upon donations to provide a high level of care for the animals in our care as well as to support animal welfare efforts in our community.
Donations can take many forms but most common are monetary donations, supplies and services.
Monetary Gifts
A very easy way to benefit from a charitable deduction and support the HSOP is through
a cash gift. Monetary gifts can also be made in the form of memorial and honorarium
gifts to celebrate those special people, pets or events in our lives.
You can may make an on-line monetary donation right now using Donate On-line.
If you want to make a monetary donation via mail, use our Donate by Mail form.
While you can specify what you want your donation to support, commonly uses of such donations are:
- Supporting our spay/neuter assistance program
- Special needs program - for animals with medical problems that are treatable and we believe highly adoptable
- Medical supplies
- General funds for shelter operations
However, you can specify your donations to go wherever you desire. Just let us know when you make your donation.
Other Gift Options to consider
Check out Other Gift Options to learn about the
variety of other options available to you to help us! Such as gifts of stocks, real
estate, and long term giving.
Supplies
See our Wish List for ideas of supplies we need. Normally
we ask that you deliver donations directly to the shelter during normal business hours. As much as we appreciate the donation, we just
don't have the resources to pick donations up. Also, if you are donating a large
quantity of something that will require assistance to unload or will take up a large
amount of storage space, we would appreciate it if you would please call us in advance
to notify us of your generous donation so we can make sure to be ready for your
delivery.
Services
We always need all sorts of services but commonly we need help with:
- Computer support
- Lawn and grounds care
- Construction and facility maintenance services
- Transportation
Please contact Michelle Rudd, Executive Director (304-422-5541 Ext. 110) regarding donations of services.
Acknowledgement of Donations
All donations are acknowledged in our quarterly newsletter. Also, donations made in
honor or memory of a person or pet will also be acknowledged by letter to both the
honoree (or their family) and to the donor. To ensure we make those acknowledgements
promptly, please be sure to let us know if your donation is being made in honor of
someone else so we can collect the necessary information.
Remember, all donations are tax deductible!
We can provide you with a receipt for your donation for tax purposes at your request.
